THE THREE OPTIONS BARCELONA HAVE TO REGISTER DANI OLMO

FC Barcelona has three options that would allow them to finally register Dani Olmo as a player in La Liga. Olmo has missed the first two matches of the season after signing from RB Leipzig due to La Liga’s strict FFP rules.

The first two options are two deals: one with Nike, and one with WhiteBIT. The last one, which is more of a last resort, would be a bank guaranatee.

Barça have been working on the deal with Nike to be their main kitmaker for a while now, but so far, the deal has not come to fruition. The terms that have been rumored are that it will be a 10 year deal, worth 90 million euro plus a 150 million renewal bonus, plus bonuses each season.

The main holdup is whether Barcelona can sell their kits online in their shop - at the moment they can only do so in Spain - and the percentage of money Nike earns from sales at physical Barcelona stores.

The other option is a deal with the Ukranian cryptocurrency firm WhiteBIT. Barcelona hope they become a stakeholder in Barça Vision - Barcelona’s Web3 division.

The last resort would be for club president Joan Laporta and other executives to get a bank guarantee for the money. Basically, they would stake their own money in order to smooth over the situation. Despite being a last resort, it’s one Barcelona have used in the past. Last season, that’s how Iñigo Martínez was registered, and Jules Koundé the season prior.
